More Useful Advice on Family Skiing Holidays

Chalets

More and more people are discovering the benefits of a chalet holiday. A chalet is the perfect way for families to holiday together. Our selections provide you with a choice, from the simple and traditional to the more luxurious. The chalets we recommend offer a relaxed ‘home from home’ atmosphere in comfortable surroundings.

Learning

ski chalet

Our selected resorts offer group ski tuition for beginners and lower intermediates. This provides the ideal opportunity to meet fellow beginners and have lots of fun, particularly for the children and teenagers. You’ll find yourself progressing to the higher slopes in no time at all.

Ski Lift Passes

You need to check to determine of the holiday includes ski-passes. Otherwise these can be purchased from the resorts at lift pass offices, generally situated within or near the tourist office. Please note that a passport size photograph is required in most resorts for 6 day lift passes. For many resorts you can now pre-book your ski passes online through their websites.

French School Holidays

Please note that half-term school holidays in France run from the beginning of February to the beginning of March. Resorts are particularly busy during these periods; slopes may be crowded and lift queues lengthy.

Excellent snow records

The resort does not need to be very high to get good snow conditions. North facing slopes and the situation of the valley also play a role in determining snowfall.

Although those resorts that are very high in altitude do generally guarantee great snow conditions as are those with glacier ski areas available. We have listed some below to help you.
