Prague
Prague is the capital of the recently-formed Czech Republic and head of
the region of Bohemia. Prague is a beautiful city in the centre of Europe,
making it an excellent base from which to visit major cites of Vienna and
Budapest and the
Bohemian countryside. The greater Prague area has a good
public transport system. The five key areas of the city itself to explore
are Prague Castle; Little Quarter; Jewish Quarter; Old Town and New Town.
Must see and do:
- Take a stroll through the old town square.
- See the church of St Nicholas
- Listen to the jazz bands on the Charles bridge take a walk and look at the stunning river view
- Visit the Old Jewish Cemetery
- See Prague Castle
- Explore some of the many Palaces and gardens
- Try a traditional meal in a local restaurant. Traditional dishes include sausages, smoked salmon, simple soups and dumplings.
You can get to Prague by air, rail, bus and car. The simplest would be air and there are now 40 international airlines that fly to Prague Airport. There are also many discount fares available.
