Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a great city to explore with your family. It is a compact
and instantly likeable city, pleasant to walk around, with a good mix of
the provincial and the cosmopolitan. The city layout is a centred on a
web of canals that are great for exploring. There is family entertainment
in the form of opera, theatre, classical music concerts, jazz, ballet and
lots more. Most restaurants do have high chairs and children’s menus.
Must see and do:
- Take a boat trip along the canals
- Explore the city by bicycle – you can hire them at the Centraal Station or at private outlets around town
- Spend some time in Voldelpark, it has an excellent playground and during the summer there is always some free entertainment for the children.
- Visit the Anne Frank House and Museum
- The Van Gogh Museum
It is easy to get to Amsterdam by Air, Train and Coach and discounted tickets are generally available. Getting around the city is easy either by walking, public transport or your bike!
