Camping in the Netherlands
Camping is an excellent choice if you are thinking of visiting the Netherlands.
There are many parks situated near the major cities and attractions that
bring people to the country in the first place. It is ideal for camping because
so much is accessible on foot or by bike. The countryside is made up of intricate
footpaths and cycle routes that link everywhere up and make it easy to get
around. Most sites provide bike hire. Do as the locals do - grab a bike and
explore.
A large proportion of the country is below sea level. The country has the forests of Arnhem, bulb fields in the west and lakes in the central and northern areas. It also has very impressive costal dunes. Then Amsterdam itself is full of bridges, canals, museums and listed buildings. A visit to the house of Ann Frank is a must.
Top places include the province of Overijssel (Vecht, Ommen, Giethoorn), Dordrecht and the Seeland Province.
