Camping in France
France is Europe’s most popular camping destination. It has beautiful scenery, great historical sites and great cuisine. The whole family can practice their French! The natural beauty spans the mountain ranges of the Alps and the Pyrenees and the river valleys of the Loire, Rhone and Dordogne. You also have the fabulous coastline of the Cote-d’Azur.
Each region of France has its different customs and cuisine. Quite often
rural villages have festivals to celebrate local saints and rural arts. The
varied landscape allows for hiking, cycling and even skiing in the mountains. 
There are over 10,000 campsites in France. Opening periods vary widely – check with tourist information. All graded sites have to display their official classification, site regulations and charges at the entrance. Off-site camping is restricted due to the danger of fire.
