Malta is closer to Africa than Europe and has an incredible sunshine record. Malta has a wealth of history, and is popular for its clean waters. Combined with its laid back traditional resorts, character fishing ports and buzzing resorts, you are sure to find Malta a reassuringly familiar and welcoming Isle. You certainly find a tempo to match your mood.

Nothing is far away on this compact little island.. You can enjoy the cosmopolitan resorts of St Julians, Paceville and Sliema, where you will find a great choice of shops, bars and restaurants. You will even find a casino, an ice-rink and a bowling alley in St Julians. Contrary to some thoughts, malta

Malta is more than a little bit British. It too, has it own Roman, Byzantine and Arab relics. A visit to the old capital of Mdina is a must, where you find a medieval walled citadel. The new Capital Valetta is packed with character and history from its truly grand Grand Harbour to its feast of 16th Century architecture.

Off course there will always be plenty of traditional entertainment for visitors to Malta to join in with, that can be found all over the Island. Malta has a tradition of weekly summer festivals at a different village each Sunday. You’ll find marching bands parading through the streets past the houses that adorn colourful lights and decorations. You will also find stalls selling a variety of goods.

The waters around Malta are widely regarded to be amongst the cleanest in the Mediterranean. Particularly beautiful is Mellieha Bay with its wonderful sweep of clean and gently shaving sand which benefits from the shelter of a sunny headland. The coast is ragged with coves, rocky outcrops and small sandy bays.

You will find eating no problem in Malta, with everything from fast food bars to specialty restaurants. Familiar food is always available. The island does make some very palatable wines and brews good and cheap beer. There’s a healthy helping of bars, discos and nightclubs in the busier resorts of the Island. In some areas the nightlife centres on bars and restaurants.
